Mark Twitchell: The Dexter Killer 

Welcome to the inaugural episode of SS True Crime! Set sail with us as we tell you a complex story involving movie magic, the show Dexter, online dating sites, an infamous garage, and a laptop with valuable information right in plain sight? Mark Twitchell wanted to make films but the life he created was even more fantastic than anything anyone could make up!

Join us as we delve into Mark’s story as we tell you all that & take you behind the scenes hearing directly from the police detective who took down this budding serial killer!

Episode 2

Bill Clark 

Welcome back aboard the SS True Crime! Today we dive deeper into Kel’s interview with veteran detective Bill Clark of the Edmonton Police. Bill gives Kel his personal feelings on the case & behind scenes information about how he took down this budding serial killer. 

You may have heard this story before, but we take you inside the crime itself speaking directly to those involved! Join us as we speak with the detective at the center of what is called “the most reported crime in Canada.”

SK Confessions 

Welcome back to SS True Crime! Many have asked the age-old question: What is it really like inside the mind of a killer? Today Kel brings you an in-depth view answering that very question straight from the confession of a would-be serial killer himself.  Kel reads the infamous manifesto we have mentioned throughout our previous two episodes, SK Confessions. This is something that will leave you speechless! 

Sit back, relax, and be prepared to have your mind blown with this rare view inside the psyche of a murder! Trust us, you don’t want to miss this ride!!

Darren Mack 

Ahoy & Welcome back to SS True Crime! Darren looked like he had it all, a beautiful wife, wonderful children, a lavish life. A life anyone would envy, but as we know looks can be deceiving & what goes on behind closed doors often makes it way outside. Join us today as we tell you a complex story of divorce, money, sex, murder, Mexico, and the shooting of a local judge! 

Kel interviewed Darren’s son Jory and Charla’s mother Joan to give you a never-before-heard insight! Jory stands by his father continuing to fight for him. Joan is mourning the loss of her beloved daughter & stands by the court's conviction placing Darren where she feels he rightfully should be. This story will keep you up at night as you decide which side you stand with!

Episode 5

Candace Newmaker 

Welcome back to SS True Crime! Candace Newmaker, born Candace Elmore, was a strong-willed, rebellious, tenderhearted child whose life was a struggle from the start. Candace was removed from her parent's care and separated from her siblings at the age of 5. When Candace was adopted by pediatric nurse Jeane Newmaker it seemed like her life was taking a turn for the better. So, how did Candace end up passing away tragically during a rebirthing therapy session only five years later at the age of 10?   

Join us as we batten down the hatches to get to the bottom of what happened to Candace and listen as we discuss the adults who were involved with robbing this poor child’s chance at a fresh start.

Episode 6

Steve Jenson 

Rachel and Kel discuss their interview with Steve Jensen District Attorney and lead prosecutor in the Candace Newmaker case. Steve provides insight and comments on how difficult the case was emotionally, the prosecution, and the sentencing of the key players involved in the case.

Episode 7

John Spirko 

Welcome back aboard SS True Crime! 1982 in a small town in Ohio a beloved postal worker was kidnapped and later found murdered. With barely, any information to go on the case was going cold until an unlikely source admits to the cold-blooded murder. John Spirko was serving time for another arrest when he told police he had intimate knowledge of what happened to Betty Jo Mottinger. The information John gave the police lead to his eventual conviction and placement on death row, but John claimed it all was a lie after all.

Strap in as Kel & Rachel take you down the rabbit hole into John’s story as they decide if they believe he is where he belongs? Or if he is telling the truth and did not commit this heinous crime.

Interview with John Spirko & Supporters 

John Spirko is serving life behind bars for a crime he claims he did not commit. He is fighting hard to be released from prison where he has been due to lies, he claims, he told. Along the way, many have heard John’s story and joined his forces to help him finally receive the freedom they agree he deserves.

Join Kel & Rachel as they discuss the conversation Rachel had with John himself, his childhood best friend and a new friend he has met along the way. Kel will make his decision on which way he believes. Did John Spirko truly murder Betty Jo? Listen to find out the conclusion to this 2-part episode.
